LEPSA present in international lithium projects: Sales de Jujuy de Olaroz, Argentina
The lithium brine project is formed by Orocobre Limited, Japonese Commercial Societe Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) and Gubernamental Mining Company of Jujuy Province (JEMSE). The Lithium Plant is located at 3900 meters above sea level, 230 kilometers from the capital city of Jujuy, northern Argentina and started commercial operations in April 2015 and since then it sells primary purified lithium carbonate and micronized and non-micronized lithium carbonate.
Sales de Jujuy awarded FLSmidth, in October 2021, a work program that includes engineering, equipment supply and maintenance for the operation of the lithium plant, as well as field services, supervision of the facilities, commissioning and training to complete the project by the end of 2022.
In October 2021, FLSmidth awarded LEPSA the fabrication of a package of (20) GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester) tanks, for storage and process, in diameters of 3.00@8.00 m manufactured in one piece or in sections (tanks > Ø 5 m) to be assembly in the project. The scope also includes covers, bottoms, connection nozzles, lifting and anchoring devices, as well as the respective ladders and metallic safety handrails.
In this way, FLSmidth reaffirms the trust placed in LEPSA for more than 10 years for the manufacture of equipment in FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) of international quality.
