In March 2024, LOS PORTALES, a leading Peruvian real estate company, awarded GRUPO LEPSA the contract to execute the project—under an EPCM model (encompassing engineering, fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning, as well as one year of operation and maintenance)—for the first module of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for the city of Chilca (Cañete, Peru).
The project utilizes MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) technology for the biological treatment of domestic wastewater, processed in modules (15 lps each) designed to handle a maximum total flow rate of 60 lps.
The Chilca project marks a historic milestone for the country, as Los Portales is the first private company to provide a non-reimbursable contribution for a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) to a public entity, EPS EMAPA Cañete.
