Minsur is a mining company and a part of BRECA group of companies. With over 40 years operating mining operations at San Rafael (Puno, at 5,200m above sea level) and Pucamara (Tacna), that extract gold and tin ores. The company also operates a smelter and refinery located at Pisco, Ica-Peru; where they are refined to high purity metal grade. Among other operations, there are two operations in Brazil: on tin mine, and a smelter in Pirapoa, Sao Paulo; as well as mining operations of Marcobre in Nazca, and Barbastro, in Huancavelica.

San Rafael mining operation is the main tin producer in the South America, and the fourth globally. Since 1977, it is operated under Minsur management, and it satisfies 12% of all tin’s demand worldwide, which is refined at the smelter in Pisco. This tin is the highest in metal purity in the world, being 99.94% tin and 0.02% lead.

Since 2003 up to date, LEPSA has been delivering equipment for the plant, in particular, for all flue gas, and foul air from the operation, which operates at a temperature as high as 140°C, on equipments such as:

  • Ø 5.11 ft x 131.3 ft Stack, manufactured in 05 sections.
  • Ø 5.11 ft to Ø 2.7 ft ducting.
  • Ø 7.3 ft Fan housing
  • Ø 4.9 ft Gas Inlet Bell
  • 06 Bag-filter housing at 12.2 ft x 12.2 ft x 32.1 ft (LxWxH)
  • 109 covers for bag-filter housing.

All equipment was design, manufactured, and tested in reference to industry accepted standards, such as ASME RTP-1 and BS EN 13121-3; and made from novolac-based Epoxy Vinyl ester, especially formulated for temperatures over 212 °F, and acid resistant glass.
