LEPSA participated in the upgrade project for the Carmen Lithium Chemical Plant (Antofagasta, Chile) by engineering and manufacturing FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) tanks for the storage of brine, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, and high-boron solutions. These tanks form part of the equipment required to process lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide—products marketed by SQM. The tanks (with diameters of 5.50 m and 6.60 m) were manufactured to meet the process's chemical and mechanical requirements, as well as to withstand the site's harsh environmental conditions. The project scope included packaging preparation (for special cargo), transport, and on-site assembly of the tank sections, establishing LEPSA as the sole party responsible for the entire supply chain.
