Since December 2015, Compañía Minera Zaldívar (CMZ) is part of Antofagasta Minerals, one the largest private mining companies in Chile.

In November 2019, LEPSA CHILE SpA was awarded with the engineering and manufacture of FRP settlers, launder channels, and mixer tanks, as part of an upgrading works of the leaching process of secondary sulfurs, by Pares y Alvarez, a company specialized in Engineering and Project Management, and responsible for the project’s procurement.   

All equipment was design, manufactured, and tested in reference to industry accepted standards, such as ASME RTP-1 and BS EN 13121-3; and made from highly corrosion resistant brominated vinyl ester resins, which are compatible to the duty and flammable resistant.

LEPSA’s experience in the manufacture of mixers and settler, and the trust given by Pares y Alvarez and Antofagasta Minerals, made possible to deliver the project, which includes:  

• 24 mixer tanks and 03 connecting organic launders, sized 12.2 ft diameter and 15.6 ft high with 45.5 m3 capacity.
• 06 organic and wash mixer tanks, sized 13.7 ft diameter and 18.4 ft high with 67.7 m3 capacity.
• 09 weirs and launder channels completed with discharge boxes. Sized 8.6 ft wide x 2.11 ft high x 82 ft long each.
• 03 organic settlers, sized 82 ft long x 91.10 ft wide x 4.3 ft high. These feature a launder channel discharge boxes, floors, and internal elements.
• 02 loaded organic settlers, size 85.4 ft long x 91.1 ft wide x 4.3 ft high and includes all internal baffles.
